Linked Immunization Action Network

Duration: 3 November 2016 – 31 December 2025

Introduction and Overview

The Linked Immunisation Action Network (Linked) is a global collaborative initiative that unites immunisation practitioners, policymakers, and partners from middle-income countries to strengthen the resilience, equity, and sustainability of national immunisation programmes. Funded by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and led by Curatio International Foundation (CIF), the Institute for Health Policy (IHP), and Results for Development (R4D), Linked fosters peer-to-peer learning to address shared challenges in maintaining high and equitable immunisation coverage and sustainably introducing new vaccines. Building on the foundation of the Learning Network for Countries in Transition (LNCT), Linked supports 45 member countries—including those that have transitioned from Gavi support and those that have never been eligible—through cross-country collaboration, capacity strengthening, and knowledge exchange. Guided by a Steering Committee composed primarily of country representatives and key global partners such as WHO, UNICEF, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the network empowers countries to identify priorities, share tested solutions, and implement best practices. Through this collaborative learning model, Linked enhances country ownership, strengthens technical capacity, and promotes sustainable improvements in immunisation systems worldwide.

Project Outcome

The Linked Immunisation Action Network has strengthened the capacity of middle-income countries to design, implement, and sustain effective immunisation programmes through peer-to-peer learning and collaboration. As a result, participating countries have improved their ability to identify and address systemic challenges, apply proven practices, and make data-driven decisions to maintain high and equitable immunisation coverage. The network has fostered stronger cross-country partnerships, enhanced local leadership and ownership of immunisation initiatives, and supported the sustainable introduction of new vaccines. Ultimately, Linked contributes to more resilient, equitable, and self-reliant immunisation systems that are better equipped to protect populations from vaccine-preventable diseases and advance global health security.
