Introduction and Overview

In This regional technical assistance project aims to strengthen national and subnational immunization programs by addressing backsliding in vaccine coverage and associated inequities. Through evidence-based approaches, the project seeks to improve equitable access to life-saving vaccines in selected ECARO countries—Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine—with potential for regional expansion.

Objectives:

  • Objective 1: Conduct Coverage and Equity Assessments, including root cause analysis at the subnational level, to identify key bottlenecks and barriers leading to declines in childhood vaccination coverage.
  • Objective 2: Identify and analyze inequities in immunization, focusing on disparities across socioeconomic, cultural, and geographical groups to ensure inclusive access for marginalized and vulnerable populations.
  • Objective 3: Develop and support the implementation of costed, evidence-based improvement plans tailored to address the identified challenges and strengthen immunization services for all communities.

The project is funded by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) ECARO office

The Project will be implemented by Curatio International Foundation (CIF) with support from the UNICEF country offices in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

Project Outcome
