Prof. George Gotsadze led Curatio International Foundation (CIF) as a director since 1996 stepping into the Presidential position on November 1st, 2017. He brings more than 25 years of experience working in the health policy and health systems field and helped the organization advance its capabilities in this area and expand geographically. Prof. Gotsadze has authored more than 80 publications including peer-reviewed journal papers and book chapters.
During 2015-2020, when Curatio International Foundation hosted the secretariat for Health Systems Global, the first international membership organization dedicated to promoting health systems research and related knowledge translation, Prof. Gotsadze also served as Executive Director and led the period of successful organizational development of HSG as well as the delivery of three editions of Global Symposium on Health Systems Research.
He is an Associate Professor at the Ilia State University and leads the Program for Public Health and Policy. During 2008-2014 he served as Vice-Chair of the Technical Review Panel and since 2017 as a member of the Technical Evaluation Reference Group of the Global Fund, the Geneva-based institution providing funding to countries to support innovative programs preventing, treating and caring for people with HIV and AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. Prof. Gotsadze also served on numerous scientific panels of science funders and on the corporate boards of national and international not-for-profit organizations.
