Moving Forward: Second PT workshop with TB stakeholders in Georgia
On August 9th Curatio International Foundation will conduct the second Program Theory workshop in Tbilisi within the project Designing and evaluating provider results-based financing for tuberculosis care in Georgia: understanding costs, mechanisms of effect and impact. The meeting introduces proposed intervention design for results based financing for TB care providers in Georgia. We will introduce proposed intervention design to initiate discussion and listen stakeholders’ suggestions to refine the concept document. Majority of the main stakeholders involved in TB care and TB policy development in Georgia, will participate in the workshop.
In the previous week project partners from The Queen Margaret University and Institute of Tropical Medicine were visiting CIF. We have worked together to developed an intervention concept note document.
The 48 month duration research project will assist the Government of Georgia in developing a provider incentive payment scheme for Tuberculosis (as a pilot intervention) and will generate evidence on its effects on adherence and treatment success rates and costs.
The study will start with the problem conceptualization and the intervention design in collaboration with the policy makers at the national level. The planed workshop is one step to contribute to this involvement.
The project is funded through the Joint Health Systems Research Initiative supported by the Department for International Department, Economic and Social Research Council, Medical Research Council and the Wellcome Trust.
