Introduction and Overview

The research project aims to promote evidence-based policies in the pharmaceutical sector by generating evidence and fostering civil engagement.

The project will achieve the aim through two objectives:

  1. Investigate the recent reforms in the pharmaceutical sector and their impact on the access to medicines for Georgia ci
    tizens.
  2. Promote civic engagement and enhance the role of civic society in advocacy towards sustainable policy solutions in access to affordable medicines.
Organizations involved

 The project is funded by United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in the framework of the USAID Civil Society Engagement Program.

The project will be implemented by Curatio International Foundation in partnership with International Budget Advocacy Hub.

Project Outcome

The expected results of the project are the following:

  1. The population of Georgia has a better understanding of their healthcare benefits and better access to affordable medicines
  2. Evidence-based policies in the pharmaceutical sector is promoted
  3. Doctors and pharmacies better comply with the regulations to prescribe and sell generic medicines.
