NEW Barometer, study focusing on the pharmaceutical sector

The Curatio International Foundation publishes a new Barometer, a study is focusing on the
pharmaceutical sector. The purpose of the study is to examine the inflation on healthcare
with a focus on pharmaceuticals.

The study includes the data of the first two quarters of 2023, namely the indicators of the
level of inflation on the health care group, and in particular on pharmaceutical products.

The study highlights the problems caused by pharmaceutical costs, which are still relevant
for the population of Georgia, although it is an important positive conclusion that the recent
data indicate the possible positive impact of the newly implemented reforms, in particular,
allowing the parallel import of pharmaceuticals from Turkey and the introduction of
Reference Pricing Policy. See the research results in detail in the document:
The study was prepared within the framework of the project entitled "Promoting Evidence-
Based Policy in the Pharmaceutical Sector by Generating Evidence and Promoting Civic
